Located just south of Manchester on the west bank of the Merrimack River, Bedford is a wonderful place to live. There are 3 elementary schools in Bedford. Memorial, Peter Woodbury and Riddle Brook are neighborhood schools and accommodate grades K through 4. McKelvie Middle School accommodates grades 5 and 6. Ross Lurgio is the intermediate school with grades 7 and 8 and shares a campus with Bedford High School.

The Bedford Public Library, located at 3 Meetinghouse Road is open 7 days a week during the school year and Monday through Saturday during the Summer months. In addition to a large collection of books, magazines, CDs, videos and DVDs the library also has special programs throughout the year, such as reading programs and story times for children.
